Taxed Fuel Sampling
*Photo on the left shows meniscus (where the fuel meets the air). Fuel is clear which indicates taxed fuel is being used. Photo on the right demonstrates what happens if you “Flick” the sampling pipette, it causes several meniscuses to form.
Taxed Fuel Sampling supplies were developed by SELA for a new Government program in the late 1990’s to provide a quick, simple method of sampling for and the detection of non taxed diesel fuel in over the road vehicles. Highway use taxed diesel fuel is clear whereas non taxed fuel is red. Any vehicle with a license plate should have taxed fuel in the fuel tank.
