Smooth Wall Straws

Smooth Wall Straws manufactured by SELA are made of a very high-quality FDA grade material of North American origin in our York SC, USA facility.  The straws can either be rigid or fairly soft depending upon need, and can be cut to any length desired. Diameters for smooth wall straws include .230, .270, .375 (the size that the straw tips fit) and .420.

Material Type:

SELA uses several plastic types for smooth wall straws which include LDPE Blend, PP, and Clarified PP.

  • PP (Polypropylene) straws are more rigid than LDPE and may be run with a thinner wall. It does not have the soft tactile feel which LDPE has, but also can’t be pulled apart or broken easily. SELA uses a standard PP grade for colored straws and a clarified version for color tint straws which mimic the appearance of Polystyrene (PS) straws without the safety hazard associated with broken PS straws
